We’ve been busy. Over these past 4 days, our family has:
1. Celebrated my and my husband’s 5 year wedding anniversary.
2. Welcomed my mom, her fiance Joe, my sister Casey and my nephew Jackson into town. I amazed myself because I didn’t clean . . . this is actually a big deal for uptight, A-personality, “my house must be immaculate”-me.
3. Wished a belated birthday to Annabelle, who turned 3 in December . . . yes, we celebrated her birthday with a cake on her actual birthdate but didn’t actually gather friends and family together until this past Saturday.
4. Shoveled and salted more snow . . .it just keeps coming. More snow tonight!
5. Gone sledding on our neighborhood’s luge. My hubby is busy at work maintaing it.
6. Eaten lots and lots of chocolate. My favorite is dark chocolate, my hubby likes peanut butter cups and Annabelle will eat anything made from sugar. Seriously. My little girl is not picky.
7. Watched the 2010 Winter Olympics. The athletes amaze and inspire me! I just viewed the performance by a Russian skater who gave up her Japanese citizenship for sake of making it to the Olympics. The things people will do to make their dreams come true!
Below is a picture of Levi visiting with his Nanna (my mom). They are so adorable together. I posted more pictures over at my flickr account. So, how was your Valentine’s Day? Chocolate? Love? Celebrating? Or, low key and simple?

I’m glad you’re enjoying the Olympics. I’m so excited that they are in my backyard! My husband is actually working on the international broadcast for figure skating and short-track speed skating, so he has a hand in it anytime you watch those events.
Yes, you are so lucky! That is awesome that your husband is involved with broadcasting and the 2 skating events. I’ve seen his picture up on your blog a couple of times, so I’ll be sure to look for him (we’re tivo-ing much of the olympics). Are you and your kids among the red Canadian fans who I see everywhere in the coverage? You must be so proud of the Canadian skier who took home the gold. I can’t wait to see more!
Happy Anniversary, Jessica and Matt! Enjoy your visiting family! Hugs, Ruth

We did, :-) Such a short visit though. We really need to make our way north so we can see family and friends. Hopefully we’ll get to see you all, including Abbie and Ed’s new baby. I can’t wait! (and I bet you’re excited too, huh? lol).
Glad you guys had a good (but busy) time! We went over to Ed’s family’s house for Valentine’s day dinner. His brother and dad dug some clams and made fried clams. We don’t do a big V-day celebration. “Happy Valentine’s Day!” is pretty much all we give each other. We’ve got more important things on our minds lately!!!

I’ve noticed that as Annabelle gets older and more “into” the holidays, I find myself going more out of the way to make a holiday special. So, this year, we decorated our indoor plant with hearts and she hid her valentine candies from us until the big day. She gets so excited!
Of course, I totally understand having a baby on my mind and trying to get ready for it. I can’t wait to meet him! I’ll have to settle for pictures in the short term though, lol.
It sounds like a wonderful visit!
Happy Anniversary Jessica : )
