robin, yes, I think we have a 5 to 10 degree seasonal start compared with new england (where I grew up). I love it that our cold weather doesn't last as long (compared to CT) but the heat and humidity in mid to late summer make up are sometimes unbearable. Oh well, we make the most of it by hanging in our basement, getting to the pool, and getting outside when the temps are cooler. I hope you'll have warmer weather in this coming week, =).

sunnymama, thank you for the kind words about my photographs. It means so much to me because I really am putting in the effort to really think about my pictures.

I love the daffodils. My grandmother has a ton of daffodils across the road from her house, nobody tends to them but the come back in abundance every year. I'm hoping to establish such a daffodil patch in my yard, but it will be a little while before I see yellow! For now I have to be satisfied with green.

Aisling, I will have to check out Lovejoy and her nature and gardening tips for children. Thanks for the tip! Oh, and I wasn't sure whether those were tulips or crocuses . . . that's why I like to frequent master gardener sites, like yours, so that I can learn a bit more about dirt, growing, and the pretty and tasty things that a garden creates.

Saucy, I am so excited about your blog! Thank you again for nominating me for the Lemonade award! I will try to add it to my sidebar.

Ruth, thank you for your compliments on my photos. I really am trying to improve my eye and my web design skills (though I am such an amateur in both areas). Oh well, I like them both! Can't wait to see what you're strolling with this week too.

These are wonderful photographs. Your season is a little ahead of mine. It is like a preview of what I will be seeing in a couple of weeks. I love the dew droplets on the (tulip?) leaves and your daughter in her pink raincoat. It brings back nature walks when my girls were small.

If you are not familiar with her already, check out the link for Sharon Lovejoy in my blogroll. Her books are a marvelous inspiration for sharing nature & gardening with children.
