Consigment Finds

You know what I love about spring, aside from the warmer temps, sunny days at the park, and getting to witness tree and flower buds blossom?  I love the bright colored clothing, hats, and shoes that my little one gets to dress up in for the spring and summer seasons.  Last week, here in Northern Virginia, we experienced a mini-spring with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.  Meanwhile, my favorite consignment shop hosted its spring premier sale (where all spring items that the store holds are finally released for sale), and our family planned a spring vacation to even warmer weather.

Altogether, I needed to find warm weather clothing for Annabelle and yet stay within a budget (it also helps that consigning is an easy way to stay mindful of the environment.  I can’t emphasize enough how using second hand items helps reduce consumption and extends the life of items.  But I don’t want to get all preachy on you.  I just wanted to share these cute, springy, consignment finds!).

Aren’t they bright, happy, and cute?  I for one can’t wait to see my own little flower, that being Annabelle, all spruced up and ready for the warm weather.   Annabelle’s favorite?  The purple turtle bathing suit.  She picked it out all by herself.

Me too. I don’t know why I feel surprised when her persistence and opinionated approach carry over into selecting clothes. At this stage, she is really concerned with choosing her own clothes and putting together what she wears. I am a bit concerned, some of the time, since she is only 2! What kind of fashionista will we have on our hands when she is a preteen?!? =)

I love consignment also!! Good for the environment and good for the wallet without sacrificing “cuteness.”

Absolutely! Plus, who can tell whether a cute toddler is styling in brand new digs or in secondhand steals? In my opinion, you can’t tell, and yes, it is good for the environment and a family’s budget.
