The results are in! The winner of our (my husband and my) treat contest is . . .

our front stoop; with bags of allergy friendly and healthy treats, as well as lots of h.f.c.s. candy (that’s high fructose corn syrup candy)

Annabelle’s baby dressed as a bumble bee (we borrowed this costume).

Annabelle and her mom dressed as insects (she’s a ladybug and I was a butterfly. I borrowed my wings and crafted my antennae).

Annabelle inspecting her loot of sugar, err candy.
Okay, okay. Now for the results of our treat contest. So technically there was nothing left when we returned home from trick or treating. My hubby decided to join Annabelle and me in the neighborhood, so our contest was totally unbiased by either of us. That said, my husband did have more candy to hand out than I had treats to give; so I guess he could be considered the winner. Still, I overheard the trick or treaters talking excitedly about the awesome pencils in the treat bags at the end of the street (where we live). I’m gonna call it a tie. Yup, we were equally successful in our treat contest. Until next year, when my healthy treat bags kick his h.f.c.s. butt.

Cool! We only had one group of about 8 kids from our street. Had I known it would be so few, I definitely would have gone the treat bag route. That’ll be the plan for next year!
Yes, I remember the days when we only had a few trick or treaters. I guess the solution, if you really want more trick or treaters, is to move to a highly populated town home community, or in our case, an entire city of town house developments and condos.
Let’s just say that even the “allergy” designated treat bags were gone. It’s a high traffic neighborhood.
