Produce great pumpkins, the pies will follow later.

Happy October everyone!  I can’t wait to pick, paint, and carve our pumpkins; but more than anything, I am looking forward to the season’s first pumpkin pie.

    Did you grow these?

BTW- I mentioned Kiva today to my class when we were talking about the effectiveness of micro-lending. I would never have know about it if it wasn’t for you!!!

I love to be able to share ideas with my students to help them make a difference, instead of waiting around for someone else to take responsibility, or think that just one person doesn’t make a difference.

Abbie, thank you for mentioning Kiva! I was fortunate enough to learn about them from a good friend and mentor. Also, I’m glad that there are teachers in our public schools (like you) who believe they can empower students to make a difference for our world.

As for the pumpkins? I photographed them when we visited our local farm. Aren’t they pretty? We actually picked our pumpkins elsewhere though (at another farm). We sure do get around, huh?
