Happy July 4th! We are home at last! Over the past week we stayed busy visiting with grandparents, cousins, old friends, and checking out the environmental and nature centers in New Haven, Connecticut. We took Annabelle to 2 fireworks displays, let her gobble up watermelon, and dance her heart out right before bedtime (an activity encouraged by her Nanna). But oh boy, is it good to be home!

Our family celebrated the 4th of July by driving home to D.C. from Connecticut and going to bed early. However, we did hear the fireworks being set off in our neighborhood; each time a firework exploded, Annabelle would sit up and shout, “Boom! Boom!” or “Bubbles!” Here are a few pictures of our red, white, and blue toddler taken during our Connecticut visit:
