Green Fest
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007Green Mama is psyched! This weekend, October 6 & 7, Green Festival is going on downtown in Washington, D.C. According to the Green Fest web-site, the event celebrates businesses and organizations within a community that are socially responsible. In D.C. we can look forward to listening to green speakers, watching how-to workshops, view green flicks, and drink organic beer. I’ll have to tell the hubby about the latter =). And since I am now responsible for feeding another human being, I am interested in attending Andrew Kimbrell’s talk entitled “Your Right to Know: Changes to Your Food.” I remember when another environmentally active friend mentioned that there were experiments on tomatoes to splice a gene from fish so that tomato skins would look glossy and fresh. Ew! In any case, when it comes to feeding my little belle, I buy organic and the rest of the time she nurses.
Anyhoo, the Green Fest looks like fun! I’ll post pics next week of what we discover while having a good ole green time.
